Painting at 9000 feet

June 08, 2016

What a fantastic adventure! Brought my field sketching tools up to Mount Adams on Sunday-Monday. We made camp at 9000 feet on "Lunch Counter". Monday was spent painting and admiring the spectacular vista where we  could see a huge chunk of the famous Cascade mountain range as well as the high desert foothills to the southeast. I got a lot of drawing done as two in our group went to summit the mountain and ski down.

Materials:

-Travel watercolor brush (the kind with water in the handle)

-rendr hardbound sketchbook

-Daniel Smith watercolors in an altoid tin.
